This set of photos truly captures the amount of work that went into the foundation and retaining wall. Rob got some help from his Dad, Lou, who cut and bent most of the steel, while his daughter, Siena, made sure the pouring of the concrete went smoothly. Speaking of smooth, the retaining wall is as smooth as silk thanks to Mr. Meticulous (Rob).
The last couple of photos show the site completely graded so only the deck piers and the retaining wall are visible now.

Oh. Wow.
That is amazing!
Did you and your family design that house?
Are you going to be living there? I have to find a way to subscribe to blogs!
This is amazing! I've always wanted to design homes and interiors. I have my share in landscaping but what you have done there is amazing!
KEEP US UPDATED!!!
Thanks for the comments. We initially thought about designing the home ourselves but decided to hire an architect. The design was actually a collaborative effort between us, our architect and contractor. We involved our contractor from its inception and he really reigned us and our architect in to keep in line with the budget. Check back in a couple of weeks as we will be posting more 3D images of what the house will (hopefully) look like upon completion.
